Statement of Faith
- We believe in God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – as he reveals himself through the Bible. He is Creator and Sustainer of all things. He is the one true God, revealed as sovereign Ruler of all he has made, and through all he has made.
- We believe in Jesus, the Son of God, the Christ. We believe in his real place in human history, his virgin birth, his life and ministry, his death and physical resurrection and his return to the Father. He is alive, and to him has been assigned all glory, power and authority. He will return at the end of the age as the judge of all people.
- We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is ‘God in us’, and who continues to reveal God to us primarily through the scriptures, and also through our experience. He is the Counsellor, the Guide, the Leader and the Motivator. The Spirit points us to Jesus, keeping Jesus at the centre of our ministry and fellowship, thus maintaining our unity. He also provides differing ministry gifts to his people enabling us to complement each other in ministry.
- We believe all people are born with a sinful human nature, and are thus separated from God. As sinners, we cannot enter the presence of God and need a Saviour.
- We believe salvation from sin and acceptance with God is found only in repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. In Jesus, we are restored to a right relationship with God, through his death and resurrection and experience God's love, acceptance and forgiveness.
- We believe the Bible to be God's inspired, infallible Word, the supreme and final authority on all matters of faith and conduct.
